Hotline phone sex chat numbers

One number could come from New York, the other could come from another location and be the same number. There’s fewer centers that have the capacity to provide chat, so that’s lower in terms of numbers of accessible chat counselors.

Some or all volunteers would go through specific volunteer training, some would be mental health professionals at either a Bachelor’s or a Master’s level, and some centers are just sort of a mixture of those. So whenever someone calls the Lifeline, does it hook you up to the nearest available center? So what happens is anywhere in the country, if you dial 273-TALK, your call is going to get routed to the nearest crisis center to you. We want people to get connected as much as possible to a local crisis center. And various centers will report different percentages of people that are calling that are repeat callers – people in their communities that they know.

But why was the wait time so long when I called the national number? The Lifeline is made of over 160 crisis centers across the country and they’re all independently owned and operated. Some people are acutely suicidal, and that side is calling.

So at the Lifeline, we focus on the distribution of calls, like the call routing across the country to the individual crisis centers, but we don’t own any of these centers. What would you say is the most common reason people call? Some people are just depressed or anxious, and have had a possible history of harming themselves and called to talk to someone to process what’s happening.

The first time I called the National Suicide Prevention Hotline, I had no idea what to expect.

It was just that magical number that people throw at you whenever you mention you might be depressed or suicidal. What if someone else needs the help more than I do and I’m just taking up space?

It was also comforting to see that they are working to improve their calling system, as well as having an online chat system (which, hopefully, more centers will join in on).
